How to begin??

Well this morning I decided that I should at least get ONE blog on my site...get started...what does one talk about in their very first blog? Well I dont' know! Ha.

To start, I'm going to share my work space...where all the work is done (the painting anyway).

 Looking in.
Work table that pretty much just collects things. Oh and that quilt...my grandmother made for me. I have cats and I don't want them getting it all hairy by putting it on the guest bed...so I decided to hang it so I can enjoy it...I love it. The Mao poster I purchased at an antique mall in Beijing while I studied in China in 2004...sweet.

Aaaand this is where the painting happens. Less than fancy but it gets the job done. My old architecture trunk (which still has a bunch of crap in it) is the main work area while my dell computer box holds the paint, brushes, and water. And an old sheet protects and as you can see I need it because I get paint everywhere :)

Now...it's a little messy and unorganized. I recently retrieved my cute children's painting from the boutique they were in to get better photos of them to enhance the listings on my etsy...so now I just have piles of paintings everywhere. I tried to make it sort of orderly...sort of.

The space seems to work well. I'm waiting for one of my friends to make me a painting smock I can wear while painting...I seem to get paint on my clothes a lot as well. For now I drape a towel over my lap while I paint.

So there it is...where the magic happens, haha. I suppose it's time I get to it so I can get more paintings listed on my etsy. :) Happy Saturday!
